Two groups are joining forces to find furry friends a new home.
The Humane Society of Greater Savannah and Savannah-Chatham Animal Control came together today to hold joint adoption event Saturday.
This is the first time the two organizations have worked together. They say it is a big step forward and it has taken a lot of work between the employees at both shelters.

"Well, obviously there's a need, we're both overburdened with animals and there's a lot of homeless pets, and if we work together we can get a lot more out." said Jodi Lewis, Savannah-Chatham Animal Control Shelter Supervisor.
All adopted animals were spayed or neutered, microchipped, and are up to date on their vaccinations.
